A trip through the Atlas Mountains will take you to Ouarzazate, a Berber city about four hours south of Marrakech.
Getting to Ouarzazate is a treat, as it takes you through a stunning landscape and past a number of fascinating cultural attractions.
Additionally, many well-known films have been shot there. similar to The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (1980),
and Game of Thrones (2011–2019) (2000). Ait ben hadou fortress, Talouat Kasbah, and the mystical landscape’s
color changes along the way are also not to be missed.
After an early morning departure from Marrakech, we make our way through the High Atlas Mountains.
The Tizin’tichka pass, at an altitude of 2205 meters above sea level, The pass is one of the highlights of the journey, And there will be breaks along the way for refreshments and photo opportunities.
The Kasbah of Talouat is the first stop (made by the Glaoui tribe in the 19th century). The second site will be The Ait Ben Hadou fortress, which the Elmoravid Dynasty constructed in the 11th century and which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
After seeing the fort, you can choose to eat lunch in either Ait Ben Hadou or Ouarzazate.
We keep going to Atlas Movie Studio, where there are still movie sets from the movies that were made there. At the end of the trip, we take a break in Ouarzazate
before going back to Marrakech.
